Help understanding statistics

Hi so my question studying statistics is:

i have two groups subdivided into groups. The subjects are not the same how do i compare the data?

group 1 groups two

age age
20-25 20% 20-25 45%
26-30 40% 26-30 30%
31-35 30% 31-35 5%
36-40 10% 36-40 20%

what test would you use to compare these two groups?
why?

thanks
