Idea! what does it mean , lines from usmle world

Quote:
C. diphtheriae AS-exotoxin. The A (active} subunit of this exotoxin transfers a ribose residue from NAD to a histidine on elongation factor-2 (EF-2}. The EF-2 protein is essential for peptide chain translocation on the ribosome in the process of translation.
any questions erupting from above ?

what i think

1. NAD to histidine ribose transfer is not important to remember
2. but function of EF2 is very imp, i.e. peptide chain translocation

any comments ....
