i did ma exam yest. too
the exam was doable and the majority of the questions were pathology and pathophysiology...about 70 %
i didnt have neither immuno. nor physiol. questions as i was expected from different people....yes there were questions about them...i only faced 3 or 4 immnuo. questions that were kind of difficult but the others were direct questions...
i was referred to this wonderful forum by ma friend harry but i couldnt be an active due to restricted time i had
i will post my exper. as soon as i will be available coz now am out for vacations..
pathology questions were good nd i think kaplan book is enough but sure Kolijan is the best.
wish u all the best nd gd luck for everyone

hmmm, what about the images, i have a friend who gave the exam and his feedback was that it was full full full of images and graphs. Lots of CTs, beyond the ones he'd seen, though the questions were not always hard the CTs tended to throw one off, or attempted to. The physio was almost entirely graphical (no pun intended). He felt that it was almost as if these guys couldn't/wouldn't write but rather draw... Any comments on that and how would you say the difficult level was?
another thing that's beginning to freak me is the resemblance of the question pattern, would you say closer to nbme or uworld? I seem to do mid 60s in uworld but the nbme i gave was a different ball game altogether...
anyway, best of luck for your result! Enjoy the new found freedom!

hi to all again

remember, because your friend had a bad exam,it does not mean that you have to get this same bad exam.stay positive and try to look for positive vibe, don't read about people that could not make it,better read about these whom had good scores, pray, and do what you have to do and the rest in God's hand.

the thing is
EVERY PERSON has his own experience..
no subject is L.Y
though in every subjects somethings are H.Y and others L.Y
i met at least 2 ppl who took step1 per month and evry1 tells 70% same 30% different story
like i got a lot of graphs and second one NO i dont get too many graphs
oh i got many histo and anatoym questions...second one..NO MAN i got only 5 questions only..
IN USMLE FOR SOME SUBJECTS I THInK THERE IS NO balance of percentage of questions subjectwise...
i asked many prof including conrad fischer white boaz ..etc..
they just said this and that But NO ONE KNOWS TRUE STORY
its just flip of coin...BETTER TRY DO ALL SUBJECTS EQUALLY and then flip for toss AFTER PRAYER..:sorry:
no one is ready 100% even if given 10 years

i totally agree with you.
it's a personal experience, and nobody gonna have the same exam that i had or that you had.it's relative.
we must just make sure we cover most of the important points,no matter if in one exAM THERE WAS A LOT OF THAT OR THIS.i think it's more important to find out your weak areas and work on them.

yeah, i do understand that. its probably very different for everyone and takes different shapes for everyone (kind of like that harry potter practice monster thingie). But the one feedback that ive commonly heard (from 2 people) is that the test is very very visual now, they are trying to squeeze in as many visuals as possible. infact at places even when there doesnt seem any scope to be - therel be a graph! Which is something I havent been getting on my uworld and would tend to throw me off, i beleive, when faced in the exam! Thanks a l ot for your feedback guys, it will really help in my prep, I will defiinitely do my FA once more now, especially neuro...
Best of luck for your scores!
