Default Qbanks

If you are scoring 60-70 on kaplan qbank you are on the right track, I would highly recommend you to do online qbanks. Besides all the copyright stuff, it gives you a personal approach to your training. A qbank can be completed in a month, including having days to review selected questions. Since usmleworld is a very important qbank according to many people, and your exam date is really far away, I recommend a 2 month subscription, in a period closer to your exam date.

Thank you .
I want to know how i should use qbank , as my senior who done wd all steps advised me that i should do it during my kaplan second reading wd FA ,after reading every subject i should do qbank for 1/2 days related to that subject. So i am starting my 2nd reading from tomorrow and my exam date is 3 months away,so in this condition should i use it 3 months, or 2 months as my plan is to finish my second reading in 2 months.

Default Qbank

There are different ways to approach the qbank, doing it subject wise helps you focus on the subject you are dealing with, making concepts stick. That's the key of qbanks. But the best way to get the maximum of a qbank is dong it random topics, timed mode. This way you'll get used to the exam experience, and really assess your knowledge. If you do it subject wise you'll be only concentrating on the subject you read before, but neglecting other subjects, the other flaw of doing it subject wise, is that you'll already be guided towards the answer, for example, if they ask about a certain topic you'll eliminate all answers that don't relate towards that topic.(eg. physio versus pathology, or cardiovascular versus renal). You can try doing it both ways, a first qbank subject wise, and a second qbank random, timed mode.

2 months is more than enough for a qbank, try using another qbank if you have a spare month. I highly recommend to fill i the first aid gaps with qbank information.

If we choose to do untimed and random questions, when should we get the explanations of them? After each question or after a 50' block?

Explanations are after completing the block. The idea is to get a fluent 1 block experience, as if you are doing the test. Afterwards you go through the explanations, carefully, and as I said before, annotate important info on your first aid.
