Planning Please evaluate/rate my study plan (IMG)

Hello there, thanks in advance for the help:

Im an IMG, going to take Step 1 in 6 months and Im kinda worried about the remaning time, since I didnt read all the books yet.
I have Kaplan Video Lectures, Goljan, FA 2009, MMRS, Katzung Pharma, HY Neuroanat, HY cell e mol bio, BRS Phys, BRS Behavioral Sc, and so on, BUT, I think that I wont have time to read all those books at least TWICE as I previously wanted and start QBanks. The main reason for that is that my med school is taking my whole day, when I get home, I only have like 3 hours/day to study.

So, I'm thinking about making a new schedule/plan:

Using only: FA 2009 and Goljan as main sources; BRS Physiology and HY Neuroanato to complete the remaining subjects in FA and after the 1st read of these books, start doing as much questions as possible with UWorld (and Kaplan if there's time)... taking notes after doing those questions.
So, wont read MMRS,etc only if I dont understand something on FA and want to spend more time on it, same with Kaplan Videos (if got confused...)

In summary, the study plan is to memorize/understand FA/Goljan and use UWorld to take notes on FA. Since Physiology and Neuroanato are HY and not so explained in FA, I will use them to take notes too. So here's another question: Should I include HY Cell & Molecular Biology too?
Or just BRS Phys/HY Neuroanatomy?

I dont have a good background in basic sciences but after reading FA at least 2-3 times and doing questions, with the explanations, I wont need those text books...
What do you think?

Thank you all, I just love this forum.

Default Plan

The most important part of your preparation is to have a plan, your plan is ok, stick to it. I've been using qbanks and most of the information is in first aid, but you have to know how to get that information from it, that is the difference between memorizing and understanding concepts. Definitely know First aid, and complementing it with a qbank is great. Other books should only be use as you stated before, for a first very important background reading, and to further clarification of complicated subjects. I recommend to leave at least a 2 month period to commit completely to the usmle, it is worth it.

Hey, your plan is somehting similar to mine, I am not using Kaplan as much, very minimal in the event one of the recommended books are difficult to grasp. It depends on how much time you are committing though, just make sure you stick to your plan and end up attempting as many questions as possible. Like for me I am doing the books - 1st read. and while I am done, I take a chp of the 1st book and just read it a chp a day and attempt questions. the idea is re-inforce, re-inforce, re-inforce, that way the information repeats and sticks and hopefully will pay off. Try your best to be done 1 month prior to your test date, i am attempting that. and then I get one month of just review and mcqs. hopefully, good luckkk .
