Help Km Vmax made ridiculosly simple. Can some one do that for me?

I have been stuck on my first DIT lecture trying to figure out Km and Vmax. Can some one just break it down for me in the simplest of terms?

Hi, I learned this by reading Lippincott's biochemistry.

Alternatively, this site explains as well http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ult...eKinetics.html

Hope this helps.
