Default UWorld Q ID 1550 HSV-2 recurrence prevention

Hi guys,

A question for those of you doing UWorld: The answer to Q ID 1550 states that daily oral valacyclovir/acyclovir/famcyclovir can decrease the recurrence of genital herpes but according to First Aid 2014 p192, these 3 drugs have no effect on latent forms of HSV and VZV. Which is correct? Thanks!

Even I have the same doubt,in wiki it's given that famciclovir can be used to prevent recurrence.

I think by having no effect on latent phase ,fa means it can not eradicate the virus
