Cryptosporidium most commonly causes watery diarrhea in children. It is a protozoa producing acid-fast cysts, and is contracted through fecal-oral transmission. Diagnosis can be made by the presence of acid-fast cysts in the stool. There is no treatment available, but supportive treatments for fluid loss should be considered.
