Idea! first nmbe

Hello people! Would like to know which is the best NMBE to do first before the start of serious preparation. I mean or something to do to know where does one stand in terms of exam preparation. Thanks in advance.

They are all the same as far as getting an idea of where you stand goes.
Take them w/ extended feedback so you know what you miss.
In general, I recommend doing them in this order:
7, 12, 13, 11, 15, 16.

You're welcome
Good luck!

Uworld + first aid + pathoma + DIT if you can't go through first aid on your own = a good step 1 score.
I know mine is average but I only prepped for 4 weeks so....

Thanks. I will have a good amount of time I guess, 5 months full time. Are those materiales enough for a score of around 240+? Thank you for your responses

FA + uworld = more than enough.
a lot of my friends have gotten 245+ with FA + uworld alone.
nbmes are very useful in giving you ideas of your weak spots.
5 months is very long....even my friends w/ 240-250s put in 2-3 months max. but they were recent graduates.
if you go FA a couple times, and uworld at least twice, with all explanations, and nbmes with explanations ( as in, look up the questions, make sure you know why the answer is what it is ), you'll be good to go.
No matter how long your prep, do not walk into an exam without an nbme predicted score of 240.

Cool

Well I have 5 months. But probably only use 4. I really appreciate your help. I'm a student and will begin next year my undergrad internishp. I also know I'm an average student and really want to put hard work and effort into this exam.

hahaha sorry to bother again. I'm planning to allocate 3-4 hours of doing practice questions. Should I use them in full blocks, or should I do 2 blocks and the other 2 hours of reviewing the blocks I did? Thanks.

of uworld? online?
if you start with one or two blocks a day, you need to review them properly like go over every question and explanation. sometimes it takes 2-3 hours to do a block that way.
start w/ one block a day...then you can work it to two...and three. and later four as your tempo goes up. even at two blocks a day it should take less than a month so i think that's a good speed.
do them mixed.

do it mixed. mixed is better. or you can start subject wise the first round and then do it mixed second go.
you don't get an accurate percentage subject wise cuz you start seeing the same concepts over and over again. then you start thinking you're getting 75% when you 're really not...

do your first aid subject wise...and when you across a question you can't understand, look it up elsewhere, online, FA, anywhere to make your concept clearer.

I'd suggest you do the 'teens' online. ie, 13,15, 16. The rest are not close to the real exam. Do 11 and 12 offline. Good luck!

Online is better. I did them all online, and so all my friends.
Doing them offline, there is no way you can get an idea of the predicted score. All the formulas are off...there are a lot of formulas to predict it but they are not accurate.
Not to mention it is illegal to obtain copies of them online.
You can skip the 7, 11 altogether. Do 12, 13, 15, 16 online.
The point of the nbme is to look at the real stimulated exam....
You have to do it without breaks. In one go. All four blocks. Like you can take five min breaks b/w blocks.
And it gives you a profile at the end with details of subject breakdown about where you stand. The analysis is what is actually worth it to your studying.
It's entirely up to you but this was the consensus among me and my friends. ( Three of them, two scored 240+, one scored 250+)
You don't have to do all of them, but it is better to do it online. Just my opinion. If you're spending so much money on this exam, an extra $60 is worth your career.

On second thought, I agree. The offline nbme are useless. I did all of them online, but I found the one in teens to be useful. Do all online.
Good luck

Isn't it good?
