Angry NBME Form 7 Score 200!

Hi my dear friends!
My step 1 exam is on July 26!

My UW qbank score for the first tour was 58% and for the second tour 79%!

Did UWSA 1, 3 weeks ago 219 and today did NBME 7 and scored very poor 200! I am worried and the test was really tough! My weakest area were behavioral sciences, Biochemistry, General principles and health and pathology (Musculoskeletal and hematology)!

I really need help guys because today I am very demotivated with this NBME 7 score of 200!

Please any advice!

Thank u very much!
PS: waiting for your response!

Warning! Don't take the exam

If you take the test on July 26, you are either going to score very low or fail the test.

You need to postpone your exam.

Go read your materials again.

Since you have spoiled UW, I suggest you do Kaplan Qbank after finishing your re-review of the books.

Hold on no, if she means 200 on 3 digit scale, that's fine, +/- SD is 18. It can swing either way, yea.. but I would suggest taking NBME 12 and seeing how you do.. then you can post pone..

if yes.. u cn but... if u believe its nt possible
then,
check ur weak areas
if ur lacking in concepts based q then work on those go thru the selected topic
n if its recall problem go learn FA
u decide urself wt do u feel..
i too gave nbme 6 n scored 205 n i made so silly mistakes,ive xam on 27th july
i feel there is no point in delaying in xam coz im fed up nw
i ws nt prepared enough wen i gave nbme n tht i wnted to test hw mch i cn recall frm wt ive read 2 or 3 weeks ago
so check urself on ur weak areas every1 hs his own way of studying

NBME 7, score 410/200 means 200 in three digit score!
Please help!
I have made some silly mistakes really , but three weeks ago I have scored 219/500 on UWSA 1! For that I am very surpised!

POSTPONE if possible, you run the risk of failing if you take it in 10 days. I know different people have different testing experience, but my test was pretty much nothing like UWSA1 or UWSA2, and was more like the NBME's. I don't know what your prep so far has been, but know that FA is not sufficient for anatomy (head & neck, lower limb, pelvis, abdomen, brachial plexus, I haven't gone through all of Kaplan LN for these but that may be good), neuroanatomy, behavioral science, pathophysiology. FA has all the basics for everything else, but you have to learn how to integrate it.Here is what I would suggest you do:
Get Kaplan Qbank, even if you can only afford a short subscription. Do all the pathophysiology questions and all the behavioral science questions. The test is very heavy on pathophysiology, and Kaplan behavioral science is king and a must do. FA biochem is sufficient, read it through, memorize the pathways and know how they interact, draw them multiple times until you know them, MEMORIZE lysosomal diseases.
When you are done, take NBME 12, it's the most similar to the exam, I don't know how predictive but the questions are structured similarly. Also be sure to do the Free 150, there are a few free-bies in there (not the exact same question, but exact picture, slightly different question).
Finally, people can give you advice and say go take the test etc etc, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to you and your God sitting before that computer screen with the big yellow noise-cancelling headphones on your head. DON'T TAKE THE TEST UNTIL YOU FEEL READY. If you feel the NBME was a fluke, take another one to prove it to yourself before you take the test.

Also, believe in yourself! You need to have a lot of confidence to get through this, and you've worked hard so trust that it will pay off and you'll be amazing!

I was about to say the same as Heigh, he got everything you may need to know to answer your question, regarding change it or not...

If i were you, i postpone it. NBME are too accurate according to the reviews, Are the most reliable test for the USMLE Score... you run the risk to fail or score pretty low...

If you can postpone it, master your weakness, review the Doables things, and check some of the rapid review.. Give you some extra month and some extra mind peace...

btw, if you need to change it,, you need to do it now, because if you enter into the 5-day between the period you choose your test day, you run the risk of loosing the ability to change it ... for example, from 20-25 You wont be able to change due ECFMG policy or maybe you will get charge...

Be Calm and Believe in yourself ( with God Help ).... =) You will get pretty good score... YOU ARE ALMOST THERE!!! =)
