Biochemistry Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency and 2,3 BPG!

Why do we have increased 2,3 BPG (Biphosphoglyceric Acid) in Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency!

I think...because you will have a back up the products of glycolysis if you inhibit pyruvate kinase.....the glycolysis pathway in FA doesn't show the 2.3 BPG but check out this pic
