And by the way there is a thread created for discussion of nbme 16 and all those questions are answered and discussed fully there so I think it is better to refer to that thread

A previously healthy 18-year-old man is brought to the emergency department by his mother 45 minutes after she found him crouched in his closet, saying he had to hide from the intruders "from that other place." There were no intruders in the house. He has no history of alcohol or drug use. He appears afraid of the physician and sits far away from her. During the interview, he says he has heard two male voices in his head for the past 2 weeks. Physical examination and laboratory studies show no abnormalities. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?
A.Bipolar disorder
B.Brief psychotic disorder
C.Delusional disorder
D.Schizoaffective disorder
E.Schizophrenia

what abt this one?

well for the first answer there is no " age " in the options and the only one that fits is gender as smoking , occupation and black ethnicity are not risk factors for osteoporosis so I go for gender ,

for the next question I will go for brief psychotic disirer because the duration is two weeks , we need 6 months of symptoms to dx schizophrenia

Come on females are more susceptible for sure and senile osteoporosis occurs after age 70 and she is only seventy so it is not senile osteoporosis

yup I also chose that whenn I did nbme 16 but then after reading few articles I understand that smoking will cause decrease in cilia and macrophage function not number .
it is different from emphysema where the alveolar elastic membrane damage by elstase or other proteases released by neutrophils and it is long term effect will occur after years of heavy exposure to smoking not in a term of weeks

For a question 26
the drug has first order kinetic so this means that fixed fraction not amount will be eliminated by unit time so in two hours he eliminates about 20% of the drug .
I got this by division 10/12.5 = 0.8 so 80% remains in his blood and 20% eliminated
so in the next two hours he will eliminate another 20% of the remaining concentration which is 10 mg .so the remaining concentration is 8 mg so the answer is E
Hope it is now clear if not plz tell me

Could you please explain your choices in Nos 10 and 34. I would have gone for Option C in both of them.

For q 10 I chose C also but I am not sure whether it is right or wrong cause i didn't take the extended feedback test, but logically thinking the vocal cords during swallowing should be closed to protect airway from food particles , and I guess after irritation it would open to allow for the irritating substance to be cleared out and during cough of course it would be open to allow for the irritating particles to get out .

and for q 34 ? can u send it cause I didn't figure out which one u were talking about
