I can tell you this: after doing Constanzo's phys (the textbook; not BRS), I just regret not reading it before. The knowledge that I now have after reading only CVS and resp (also cell physio) is so much to even allow me to understand patho and pharm much better. If you have time, do it. And if you have even more time, review what you just finished reading again. You start creating images and pictures in your mind about how every system works that will stick pretty much for life. Physio questions (from what I hear) are no asked directly on boards, but like I said, it just makes everything else much easier to learn.

Good luck!! BTW...It's my favorite book.

Linda Costanzo Physiology

It's important to also say that I don't consider myself to have a good background and so I have decided to use some text books to help me out a bit. This is not necessary. Her BRS version is just as good and for boards perhaps even better.

Also, I hear that the kaplan videos by Dr. Robert Dunn are golden. You can try and watch these if you have the time or if you think you're too weak in physio. IMO, if you're weak in physio, believe that it's also knocking down a few points in other subjects as well. Hence, it's importance in medicine.

Costanzo physiology is awesome...i used it for class and loved it...it's written in a very straightforward way with nice pictures. Didn't have time to use it for boards, but I got my foundation from it.

I also did Kaplan first...but I didnt like it...if you have time, you should read BRS (at least CV chapter) and answer the questions.
