Info Biochemistr {KAPLAN} *versus* {LIPPINCOT}, for total beginner

hi guys . i just started preparation for step1 , and i will soon finish my physio . after i will do 1 quick repeat of physio and want to start biochem . but i don't know which book to choose . most students in this forum say that kaplan is enough . but i didn't learn anything from biochem in college . didn't pay attention for it . so , will I understand kaplan ? i have read some physio in college, but it was again hard to read it for usmle . so if i didn't read biochem in school it will be hard twice to understand . should i go for lippincot ?

The graphs/charts/summaries/concept diagrams etc in lippincott are good.
The genetics part is good from Kaplan.

Personally I think if you do FA with DIT, the DIT guy does a good job the biochem sections. His workbooks etc and questions do a pretty good job of what is on the test.

I'd say you go with Kaplan notes AND the videos. MUST.

Good luck

Default Hey

Hey, if u have time go for lippincott. Excellent book!!
It will take time in first read but unlike kaplan you will be able to revise concept and facts simultaneously(which u cannot do in kaplan lecture notes).

But don't forget to watch kaplan videos with your first read because they will guide you which section to remember like evil, which to simply remember and which section should not be read.

For molecular biology is given enough in lippincott except some techniques, for which you can use kaplan lectures and high yield molecular biology.

Good luck!!

Well I didn't mean lippincott isnot doable , rather Kaplan is more suitable for USMLE ,lippincott is more comprehensive and time consuming
But some chapters in kapaln just suck!
Like chapter 5 molecular , I did need to go to lippincott to understand it
