Default Fanconi-Bickel syndrome

Hi all:

Can someone please explain that since fanconi-bickel syndrome is due to deficiency of GLUT-2 transporter of the liver. Why fanconi-bickel syndrome can lead to hypoglycemia? If we have less GLUT-2 transporter on the liver, should not we result in hyperglycemia because we cannot take glucose inside liver?

Thank you for your patience!
