Arrow Is MRCOG recognized in the USA?

Hi guys,

Sorry for posting this question here, but the General Topics board is full of spam and I did not know where else to post this question. I hope some of you might be able to answer this doubt.

Is MRCOG recognized in the USA? Can someone who has passed their MRCOG exams apply directly for OG positions in hospitals in the USA? Or will they be required to go through the same Step 1,2,3 and match process?

Thanks in advance.

Cygnus.

The match process is the same for everyone regardless of where you've been trained. Yes, you have to do all the Steps as that's a requirement for every doctor willing to work in the US. You may get a 1 year exemption in OBGYN residency (assuming you get in with the right step scores), but that's really about it. Of course if you've done your actual training in the UK, then you'll definitely have an advantage over other IMG applicants.
