Default When should I take my USMLE Step 1 Exam?

Hi!

I'm an IMG. I am currently in my second year of medical school. I was wondering if anyone can tell me based upon their opinions/experiences when the best time to take the USMLE Step 1 would be? Do you recommend taking it in the 3rd year, right after finishing the basic sciences? Or after gaining some clinical experience, in the 5th year?
I also realized that in order to apply for certain observership programs, etc. one needs to submit their Step 1 scores, so I'm planning to take it next year, but wanted to get an opinion from others too first

Please let me know what you think!
Thank you so much!

Pick up Kaplan.
Keep revising them along with your course textbooks.
And when you are finished with Specially Pathology then you have cover all the topics that are tested in step1. You can do uwrold in all those years. Give an NMBE me If you score good you can sit in exam.
Its the ideal time -4th year.

But if you are not prepared well and score low then delay the exam till u complete your final year.
Dont compromise on lwo scores.

But if you ask me and i was given a chance to rewind back 5 years. I would ve defiantly given step1 by end of 4th year

Default USMLE Prep

I heard that 4th year was supposed to be one of the most difficult years. Hopefully everything will workout and I will be able to take it then..
Do you have any tips on how to study for the USMLE while studying for college classes at the same time?
Did you make any schedule?
