Unhappy Acetazolamide and Normal Anion Gap

When acetazolamide causes inhibition of carbonic anhydrase and leads to increase excretion of HCO3- in the urine, how can it cause a normal Anion Gap Acidosis because in the formula for normal anion gap you have HCO3- as well ?

For maintaining the electroneutrality Cl increase. That is known as hypercloremic normal anion gap metabolic acidosis.

If you want to be more clear about Anion gap try to find in youtube this video: " ABG Interpretation: The Anion Gap (Lesson 5)".
