I would suggest start all over again. Read kaplan and see videos for all subject except micro and patho. For patho- Goljan and audio. And for micro CMMRS. Read FA after each subject and make notes in FA to revise at the end. ALso start uworld and do subject wise quest. Read FA 4-5times. Give NBME and see where you stand.

So bad he didn't make it, and judging by your post, he didnt even feel prepare, he just wanting to give a try to see what it is the USMLE TEST... That's a big step for so deliberate decision.

Well, if he is into real getting the exam again i think he should start all over again... so here is a little plan.

If you guys got time, please into consideration read all Kaplan Books again and finish it, it will take no more than 2 month or 3 with the videos. then go to First AID 2011, and after the first read go into Qbank Kaplan, it will makes you more comfortable to retain certain information from Kaplan books.

After finish it, please consider giving a try to a real NBME ONLINE before going somewhere else... and depends on the score you get, you will decide to go to another step, if the score is not the desire, consider going to uW this time and go all over the question UNUSED/TIMED/ 46 question and read the full bank question by question, even the bad ones... one finished or at least in the middle of the course take another NBME or it would be a booster of confidence to take USWA which overstimate you but it is good, we need that sometimes to boost our soul =)

After that finish UW and take the last USWA ( there are 2 ) if you already taken, consider taking NBME instead of those one. I suggest NBME 7-6-11-12.

Remember this: Qbank Kaplan is more methological question bank. is more abstract but give you more Kinda question of Graphical stuff...You will get it as you advance through the course.

UW is more integrational bank for your knowledge. Is the Must do of all the course, you already know it.

and If you by any means need another qbank there are like usmlerx ( good one ).. other is Gunningtraining ( i dont know, people usually say it is a great one )..

remember: FA is a book that you have to constantly read over and over again, try to loose the gaps between reading... if the first time take you 30 days, the second time should be 20, then 15, then 10, etc.. till you reach the maximum speed... i usually read it by 7 tops. Im just a regular guy....

Every NBME should consider as a material to shows your weakness area and approach to those in the FA and blast them...

Materials: Qbank Kaplan , UW , USWA 1-2, NBME 7-6-11-12... and of course FA 2011 or 2012 depends on the year you take the exam.. ( the 2012 is out by january )

Again, USMLE is the most dificult exam any medical student or doctor has to take in the life.. and in fact is the most important... Just be confidence on your knowledge and Trust God....

The point that you have failed, just tell you u were not prepare to achieve the passing rate, it doesnt define you as a doctor... it does not say anything else... Doctors are more capable than just to take exams.... So dont be afraid of giving a try again and dont be ashame of yourself... Pretty much only people who takes this exam knows how difficult it can be to some of us...and how relieve it is when we put this step behind... =)

God bless you and see you in the journey...
