You're probably not sleeping well during the night?

Many body disorder can be a cause of sleeplessness. You need to first identify why you are facing this. Consult with doctor

How many hours are you sleeping per day? It needs to be at least 7, more ilke 8, so that you can actually stay awake during reading. you might be sleep deprived.

Differential Dg:
1) OSA (are you snoring at night? somnolence during the day?)
2) Narcolepsy
3) Pituitary-related problem
4) Burn-out

I was in similar situation. I have started going to the library. Passive reading can be very boring (Make you feel sleepy) So do active reading like making notes while you read, solve questions, quiz self etc. If you dont like wasting paper, scribble on the same paper or write on a whiteboard.

Methods I use to stay alert:
1. Wash my face everytime I use the bathroom
2. Do stretching or squats everytime I feel sleepy
3. Alternate between reviewing notes-reviewing flash cards-doing qbank. I often feel bored doing the same thing for more than 2 hours, then I start feeling sleepy.

Hope that helps!
