If u fail nbme 7, then u shudnt write ur exam. Its the best predictor of the step 1 exam! (I still have to take my exam though so cant comment on it much lol)

People pass NBME and fail the real exam cos they have been exposed to the NBME questions on forums. So they write NBME and it gives them a false estimation of preparedness.

wht i am saying is that people post the questions on forums, they do not care that someone else will write the NBME. So when someone innocently sees the question on forums, then goes to write his/her own NBME, it compromises the result.
Btw, offline NBMEs and online ones are same thing

I've heard that 11 and 12 were the best predictors now. But, honestly, I guess, his mistake was - inconsistency. He did nbme 6, failed 7 and did not check himself again? Clearly, he must have barely passed 6, if he failed 7, then the question is: why did he decide to take exam anyway?

All the experiences I've seen so far had very consistent nbme scores, in most cases increasing towards the actual exam. And that should be like that, I guess, if one studies and improves.

More, nbme has a standard deviation of 100 (roughly 24 in USMLE score), but they DO NOT suggest to use the forms as a predictor, although we all do it. My 50 cents...
