cell divides in >?
interphase or telophase ? please help me with this confusion

The cell cycle = G1 --> S --> G2 --> M
S stands for Synthesis Phase, and M stands for Mitosis. So during cycles G1, S, and G2, the cell decides whether or not it will replicate --> Will duplicate DNA, synthesize all necessary proteins for replication and division etc --> Will prepare the newly-copied DNA into chromosomes and get them ready for division. This WHOLE process is called the Interphase (G1 to G2). During the M phase (NOT part of the interphase), the only thing happening is the cell division.

So if the only two options are Interphase and Telophase, I'd go with telophase, because during the interphase, all those processes I described above are still happening.
