Help nbme forms

hi
i have a very important que
i want to keep a track with my progress
the best way as people have been telling is nbme forms

iwant to know when and at what intervals should i take them

also can i give it more than once. i think if i give it more than once without knowing the right answer will only increase the confusion for me. but not sure

does anyone have or read or made any plan for it.

Give atleast 2 to 3 NBME.

First after your complete reading. Assess your self and see what is your weak subjects.

Second month or 3wks before to see how your are progressing and this will be number you probably will get in the exam.

Third if you have time then give 1 more last NBME 7-10days before exam to make sure you are close to numbers you looking for.

You can give NBME as many times you want.

NBME is to assess your performance and not a tool to see whether you attemted a particular question was correct or wrong. To do that use uworld qbank not NBME.

Lastly try giving NBME 7, 11 & 12 as they are the latest and give very much predicatble score.

yeah, I agree, but would probably also suggest (and am going to do so) to control the progress more frequently before exam. In the last month I think it is worth doing any type of self assessment every week and work on any weak areas immediately. Good luck!

don't u think we should not take the same form again and again, cuz once we see the question out of it, we will read that topic and then we will score better... if we keep repeating the same form?

Salz is right, you shouldn't repeat forms. We are lucky that forms 5,6,7,11 and 12 available for us, also UWSA 1 and 2. It makes a total of 7 self assessments, plus free 150 qs. Should be enough to satisfy any appetite.

P.S. I apologize if my previous post created a little bit of confusion, but really I didn't mean that one should repeat ANY form for assessment purposes. You can review it if some qs were tough for you.

Thanks for the replies
I think I'll do all of the forms one By one and not repeat them
But will probably give them in a scheduled way.

Also I think the USMLE rx let's u do make assessments although the assessment is over prediction as is uworld sim exams but good for practice
