Question seperation anxiety disorder

A 5 year old boy shows great distress when left in kindergarten by his parents. he cries , stays to himself. his behavior is disruptive to other children. he is diagnosed with school phobia. What is the most appropriate management?

1) keep the child in same class and have parents attend the school with the child, tapering off the time the parents spend until the child is able to stay at school on his own
2) keep the child in the same class in conjunction with parental counseling

the correct answer mentioned is 2. why not 1??

the answer explanation says that separation anxiety disorder is a more appropriate diagnosis for this. but i don't understand the reason for the answer being 2 not 1.

I came across similar Q in Simulated exam 2 and was wondering about the same thing as you.

I would generaly stick to what BRS BS says: answer 1.

Although the case is a bit different from classical presentation of Separation anxiety disorder (physical Sx, attachment to parents), in explanation it even says it's "more approprietly" called Separation exiety disorder...
