Default krebs cycle ATP ,, kaplan says 12,, FA says 10 !!

Krebs cycle ,as i know and kaplan video said , produces 12 ATP per cycle
3 NADH 3
1 FADH 2
1 GTP 1
but in FA 2014 p103
It said 10 ATP/cycle & nothing in its errata
So confused i think its FA mistake ?

don't worry about it , its not that important , they just calculate it differently.Stick to FA because it is more updated that Kaplan.

This is just that classic confusion even they tease us nowadyas in college about this,

Like Kaplan says,
3 NADH 3
1 FADH 2
1 GTP 1

(No of atp x no of nadh) + (No of atp x no of fad) + (No of atp from gtp)

so 3x3 + 2x1 + 1 = 12

But nowadays its considered a single NADH only forms 2.5 ATP instead of 3 and FADH leads to 1.5 ATP instead of 2 so the calculation is

2.5x3 + 1.5x1 + 1x1 = 10

Hope the confusion is clear now, they teased me about this in college can you believe it
