Question What do you do if you don't like/understand a subject?

Hi guys!

I'm a soon-to-be IMG from South America who already started preparing for the Step 1. I'm using a kind of modified Zum-Zum method: KLN+FA+Goljan+BRS Physio+UWorld (yeah, I know it's really old, but I think it's really useful). Ah! I'm planning on taking the Step 1 on mid-December.

I began reading the Anatomy KLN at a slow pace, reading 20-30 pages/day since I took basic sciences almost 5 years ago and almost forgot it all. So I read, repeat, highligh and take notes during the day, at the afternoon I review the material of the day and do some Qs. Crazy stuff...I might go insane soon.

The point of the thread is this: what did/do you guys do if you don't like of don't understand a subject? Do you leave it until you are more rested? you leave it until the end of the week or of the bigger topic? you force yourselves to understand it through videos, more reading or alternate material?

e.g. I hate bone formation since med school day 1 and ended up re re re rereading it until I memorized it...

Thanks for your comments! (I'm also open to opinions about the method I'm using!)
