Arrow Cooldude2011 step 1 experience

I had started studying in the month of July 2010 during my internship and finished Kaplan Step 1 Lecture Notes without videos in 2 months and then due to very hectic duty schedule cannot pick up the book for about 3 months, started second reading of Kaplan in December 2010 but due to formalities of internship completion and change of hostel January was wasted and finally able to finish Kaplan second time by February 2011.
From Feb 25 joined UW and started reading first aid alongside, finished UW, Kaplan third read and first aid 2 readings by April 25.
Took NBME form 7 on April 27 and got a shocker 210, was depressed so much did not study for a month I mean nothing and just took NBME form 11 and got 211 on May 26, it was a do or die condition for me started with Kaplan 4th read and first aid alongside and finished by June 22.
Scheduled my exam for JULY 7, completed offline UW and 2 readings of first aid yes i was studying about 14-16 hours. finally took my exam on July 7 got result on July 27 and it was 231/99 exam was very tough,
I found it tougher than NBMEs

Congratulations!! Great score! So you never watched any Kaplan videos, you only did the lecture notes? and did you use any other books or other material? Like for pathology?

I think you are doing right by my notes on kaplan books (underlining important things),its better way to save time, rather than copying them on FA or on separate note book.

Default Congratulations Dude !

congratulations dude, great score !

which one did you find more precious, FA or Kaplan lecture notes ? because somebodies believe that taking test and importing notes to FA is more effective instead of reviewing Kaplan lecture notes,

By the way I finished immunology in FA ad take the tests in Immunology part in Q&A bank, I find FA so and so, I thinks its not complete for me as an IMG ...

Thumbs Up

Impressive! Congratulations...Hard work led you to great score.

Thanks a lot for your post. It's really inspiring how you didn't let yourself be knocked down by NMBE's, instead you were like "WTFudge!!" and pushed yourself even further. Nice. Real nice.

Well deserved. Good luck on your following endeavors.

I made notes of UW on FA because in the last 20 25 days one should read FA over and over again, while reading FA i was wondering why some vague topics have been put together here and there in the book but these are the topics which are on real exam i got them a lot on the exam , yes i read GOLJAN for pathology 5 times and 2 days before exam spent a whole day for the margin notes on goljan
