how excess amonium depletes alpha ketoglutarte leading to inhibition of tca cycle.

Alpha ketoglutarate takes an amine group ( comming from Ammonium) and turns into Glutamate. On the other hand, alpha ketoglutarate ,which is now turned into glutamate, is part of the TCA cycle so when it's low it will inhibit the progression of TCA cycle.
