Default Which is better 'FAILING' or 'NOT-APPEARING'

I wanted to know whether appearing for the exam(Step 1) and failing is better or not appearing completely for the exam is better. I am pretty sure that i will fail if i give an attempt now. And i can't extend my eligibility period now. Please advise.

There is nothing wrong in "not-appearing" other then the fact that you will lose all the money you paid. On the other hand if you do go ahead and the test it'll be a part of your record for the rest of your life.

I had the same wonder and checked with ECFMG. Definitely non-appearing is better, since it's not gonna show on your record. Your only lose is the $$
