Kaplan Medical Kaplan Neuroanatomy Videos useless!

Guys, I can't afford to spend the next few days going thru Kaplan neuroanatomy lecture notes + videos.
I don't find the videos for neuro useful. It seems the same as reading the lecture notes (since the professor reads off the slides) and I feel like I am better off just reading the lecture notes ONLY and then moving on with my studies. Besides I will cover Neurosciences in physio and path with good sources/videos anyways.

Do you think its fine?

No the professor that teaches Neuro and Histo just reads off the slides. I am talking about the new kaplan videos with the green background

i told u already... from anatomy: i found useful to see only embryo and neuroanatomy. Rest is garbage. But, if u have a good foundation, u can skip them.

Im just forcing myself to go thru it even though its so painful. Neuro is one of my week subjects and I want to make sure I know it inside and out before my test. Giving myself two full days to finish neuro!!

Actually, I was wrong. As I go more into Neuro with Kaplan vids, its actually not that bad! The professor does get better at explaining things and it reading the lecture notes make more sense after watching the video. Wow! I am hopeful for the step 1, esp after knowing that its possible to make my weak subjects stronger with kaplan. Don't skip any video except histo lol

Agreed...didn't learn anything from the Kaplan neuro videos.

For those still in the early studying phase, from my experience the best way to go about this:

High Yield Neuroanatomy (written very well)
Then read the neuro section in FA 2-3 times

Finally do questions right away to cement the information. Do Kaplan QBank and USMLE RX and if you can get your hands on it Pre-Test Neuro.

Even though I went through the Kaplan videos, I learned and cemented all my neuro doing questions. I read High Yield wayyyy after and then I had wished I had read it earlier cuz it had all the important points written in a very clear manner.

If you want a link to dowload Neuro high yield, USMLE RX and pre-test...go here

Thank you, haga!

I found your advice very useful. I was planning to watch neuro videos in my revision and just use HY neuro for the pictures, but I am now seriously considering using HY neuro as my primarily material. Yep, I also bought Pre-Test Neuro last week. I haven't started on it yet, but I'm very happy I found a review that says it's useful.

hi haga,
Do you recommend pretest series for all subjects as well, like physio, anatomy, bioch, pharma...behave...clinical vignette,...etc???

Thank you
