Question How long it takes to get above an average score in Step 1?

I'm merely beginning to dip my feet into the USMLEs. I'm an IMG and I'm toying with the idea of doing my Residency in the US. How long would you guys prepare for Step 1 in order to get an above average result?

the average time would be 8 months I'd say for an IMG.
There are many factors that influence this average:
When have you graduated (how much do u remember from med school)
How dedicated are you
How many hours can u spend per day
and using correct materials is important.

For IMG it is not enough to just memorize First Aid, you need to have basic concepts, as US graduates have. For this basic level there are many "review sources" and even classes that can offer help with preparation for USMLE.

8 months to a year I'd say
