In the ICU, a patient admitted for a COPD exacerbation suddenly develops a blood pressure of 80/42. The nurse notes that the EKG rhythm has changed and immediately records a reading of the rhythm, shown here. Which of the following should be immediately started?
  • A. Cardioversion
  • B. External pacing
  • C. Defibrillation
  • D. Atrophine
  • E. Rate control

Yeah, looks like its time to defibrilate (C)

I would appreciate some explanation to this question (A and B) answer options.

the answer is defibrillate as it is Vfib but in atrial flutter or fibrillation you cardiovert on the basis and the start of P wave
