Unhappy Low score Step 1

Hey guys, I was really upset today to get my score 83/201. I was averaging around 70% on Uworld and Kaplan. I'm still in shock and kind of wish that I had failed instead so that at least my score wouldnt be so low on the second try. I guess what I want to know is if my chances at attaining a residency are now slim to none?

There is chance... dont feel bad, just focus on your next exam CK/CS and 3, you will do great.. =) usually a great score on those exam can overcome the first one just dont feel like that...

This is a score, dont represent how good as a doctor you are or you will be. =)

it is a low score, no doubt.
But its not the end of the world or for that matter residency.

Try to score better in step2,3.
Show signs of improvement and make it feel like step 1 score is just a glitch.

This is not the time to quit.you must have invested some time and money into step1 and if you quit now , the time spent here becomes uncounted for ever.sure a score 90+ score is better than yours, but take life as it comes. make the most of it in the remaining steps.

If you really believe you deserve better scores than this current score, prove that in step 2,3.

people get matched for all kinds of scores.so dont worry about this glitch!
