Unhappy ACE-I to prevent Diabetes?

Oxford Clinical Medicine handbook says that ACE-I should be used for px with glucose intolerance to reduce the chances of developing Type 2 diabetes. I dont understand the role of ACE-I in slowing the onset of diabetes. Can anyone shed lights on this?

Rather than says slow the course of develop diabetes, i would say, slow or prevent the renal damage on diabetes...

Because ACE-I Inhibit the formation of AG II so, there is noone whos Constrict the efferent Arteriole, which is basically what diabetes does in the kidney = Nodular Sclerosis in different manner/way.

Please check this Link, i already explain the pathoPhysiology of the Disease there...

Why ACE inhibitors good for DM nephropathy!
