Default 6 weeks left for Step 1 Advice!!!!

I take the Step 1 at the end of April. I finished Kaplan, DIT and did FA twice. I am almost done with UW. I need advice what to do the next 6 weeks. My last NBME was low. My UW average in blocks so far is 55-61%. I don't know what else to do raise my score.

Any suggestions please ??? Thank you in advance.

The major reason for a lack of jump is that you haven't utilized UW notes properly. I see it all the times. You have taken UW notes subconsciously, and haven't gone over them properly.

Don't do FA twice. Its pointless. Rather, do your UW notes thoroughly, and do the wrong questions again. That is the only way to test yourself if you got the knowledge and concepts.

Then, in the week before the exam, take an NBME. If the score is in the range you desire, you can go and take the exam hopefully.

Now is the time not to get new concepts and info. Just to absorb/recall/integrate the ones you already know. So no new information now. Keep polishing the concepts you already know, work on your recall and stamina.

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much! It feels overwhelming sometimes with so much info. But I will do review my wrong questions and my UW notes again before taking another NBME! Thanks again!

do your UW notes like he said and do loads of questions…at this time you should be spending most of your times doing questions and reviewing notes from the questions. btw according to your UW what are you weak areas?

What do you mean by going over FA twice? Did you read it? Or memorize it? If you just read it twice, I think it's totally worth it to go through the biochem section again. Combine it with biochem questions in UW. Really concentrate when studying, so you utilize as much of the time you have left as possible.

As for physiology, I think you should stick to UW notes - maybe go through questions again?

Biostats - go through the UW questions you got wrong - identify the concepts you don't understand - go back to the material you learned it from (dunno what you used?) and just focus on this.

Good luck with your preparation!

OMG, you have done so much.
I have my exam in 8 weeks and I've done half of what you did.
So thanks for ruining my self-confidence
But seriousely, if you have time, just do another qbank like Kaplan.

focus on biochem questions in Uworld…..read the long uworld explanations for them and try to understand it well and then memorize Biochem FA with it. if you have Uworld Notes for biochem then do those too. As for physio read your world explanations for your cardio physio, respiratory physio and renal physio or what ever physio system you have the most difficulty. Then if you still need help get BRS physio 5th edition its has good physio. As for BIOstat jus focus on whatever world has.
