Unhappy confused big time......plsss do reply

hi guys
and thanks in advance for looking into my post
i am a student from india and have just finished with my fourth year of medicine, and im presently waiting for my internship to start.
my question is regarding clerkship electives and externship!!!! is internship considered as a part of medical school so that i can be eligible for electives? if not what are my other choices?
i have not started my step 1 preparation.

Elective is when you're still affiliated to your med school as a student.
Externship when you no long are.

There's also an observership.

so since im still considered a student during my internship i can do electives right? or is it that once im done with my fourth year i am not considered as a student in US?

It has nothing to do with what that US thinks! It's about your universities system. If you med school considers you a student during your internship then the US does too. Check with your student's affairs office about this.
