Default Exam experience step 1 taken on 30th march 2015

Guys... i just wanted to share something and know certain things from other exam takers..

Well to sum it up... i can say... exam had 2 average blocks... and 5 difficult blocks...

i had loads of neuroanat... and pelvic anatomy...!!! biochem was restricted to glucose metabolism mostly... yeah couple of questions from here and there in biochem... but it was revolving ard the glucose and insulin!!

Is it the same/similar experience with other recent test takers ...??
Im scared coz 5 blocks were difficult... and questions were real lengthy...!!

i was struggling to complete in time for 4-5 blocks... rest of the blocks were completed 5-10 mins before...!

Plz share ur exam experience... hw was it...? is it only me feeling like 5 blocks were difficult...??

Don't worry, everyone is getting his share of rude anatomy questions.
Musculoskeletal is like wtf. Nerves, muscle insertions, MRIs, arteries, etc.
And FA/UWorld/Kaplan(?) are not enough...

Yup. I agree. Not enough at all. Some anatomy, microbiology and behavioral questions are way off the chart.

Yuuuuup totally agree with u ,i took the exam on 19 th march and still wwaiting for the result , i did uswa 1/2 265 +, i did nbme 7= 261 nbme 13= 267 nbme 15= 264 nbme 16=264 .
The exam was the toughest of all of the assessment And banks
The same as ur experience the bio, genetics and pharma were very easy and straightforward to the degree that i regretted the dedicate studying of the pathways , sideeffects , mechanisms of action ,epigenetics , collagen and elastin structure all of this didnt appear in my exam , all i got is very difficult questions in microbiology , anatomy , and neuroscience(not simple localization, there were mechanisms of congenital anomalies) , very lengthly questions appeared to me to the degree i finished the first 5 blocks first run in the range of 10-20min left , the last two blocks less than 10 min were remaining at each block before i finished , before the exam i used to finish the nbme 50 question block calmly in 30-35 min
in the exam i felt myself rushing and still had problems in time due to the very lengthly questions i had.
im sure that first aid was covering less than 40% of material appeared in my exam, if i added u world to the percentage it will not exceed 60 %

And i got 2 heart sounds... trust me guys... the history was minimum... they made sure that u identify it by listening only... (many people who gave exam earlier have said that by question stem itself u can recognize the murmer)...!!

But i think it was not true in my case... history was bare to minimum... u had to identify by listening...!!

Same here, lot questions from pelvic anatomy, muscles used in Kegle exercises etc, genetics I found horrible as well behavior science. Uwsa: 243.. One week before
NBME 16: 230.. 2 week before
Real deal: 225
Not happy with that, was hoping 235+ at least
In Ck I got 242.
But worry about step one.
Can I get IM match with above score
What should I do now , to make it possible?
Plz guide

Good info. I had heard from friends that biochem was low yield and that something like picmonic would cover most of it. Pelvic anatomy? Guess I'll give that a run through then look for a good place to learn heart sounds.

Physio and pathophysio were okay.. the thing is... questions dint seem like nbme or uworld... ur knowledge of those subjects will help you rule out options...! that was my experience..!

Exam was difficult... but do-able with on the spot application of your knowledge...!
