Lungs 56 y/o man with dyspnea and fever

A 56-year-old man, without history of smoking, complain of increasing dyspnea over the past 3 days, left-sided chest pain, and fever. He is noted to have blood pressure of 142/78 mm Hg, respiratory rate 32/min, temperature 37.5C, exudative pharyngitis, and dullness and decreased breath sounds over the left lower chest. Histological examination of his lung would mostly show which of the following?

B) Mucous gland hypertrophy and fibrosis of bronchiolar walls in left lower lobe
C) Neutrophillic exudate occupying the alveoli of an entire let lower lobe
D) Pink, proteninaceous layer lining the alveolar spaces in both lungs
E) Thickened basement membranes and many eosinophils in left lower lobe

Yes, C is correct. This is the lobar pneumonia and C can explain it very well.

A would be seen in Interstitial pneumonia by Virus or M. pneumoniae.
B would be seen in Chronic bronchitis.
D would be seen in RDS.
E would be seen in Asthma.
