Question Post-operative Fever?

Thirty hours after surgery, the patient has a persistent low-grade fever and mild tachypnea. P/E revealed a decreased air entry at the lung bases. Abdominal dressing is clean and dry; the urine output via catheter is clear and adequate in volume. Which of the following is the most likely cause of the patient's fever?

A) Wound infection
B) Cicatrization atelectasis
C) Obstructive atelectasis
D) Relaxation or passive atelectasis
E) Pneumonia
F) Urinary tract infection

Correct Answer Answer

I made the question from first Aid cases for Step 1.
Post-operative Atelectasis which causes fever, is due to hypoventilation and the type of atelectasis is Passive or relaxation one.
