Default im really confused . do we need GOLJAN for high score ? ~250

there are 2 types of people , first say that goljan is veryy veryy necessary for high score , but others say that goljan is very low yield and pathoma is enough for high score . im so confused , dont know , should i read goljan or not . i have read pathoma , nd watched its videos .

Just based on advice from friends who have done it and just doing practice questions and writing numerous NMBE's with UWorld. Honestly I don't think Pathoma would nearly be enough. It was a good thing to go through to have a quick introduction to topics and really really high yield points but not nearly enough to actually answer some questions. Although it does feel like at times even Goljan goes a bit to much into depth. By by the time I did DIT, looked at my FA and read rapid review while doing pathoma it become really apparent what was high yield and what points weren't worth going over. I think its like this odd medium between the two. Good luck!

I haven't taken the test and neither did I finish my 2nd year ie I am a student but from I understand owing both pathoma and goljan lectures+book is that I will do PATHOMA and have it memorized full and I mean full then while reviewing my UWORLD subscription do GOLJAN audio lectures with transcript as he covers everything and dont try to mug up everything rather focus on the new concepts that he provides in those lectures because talking physically remembering whole of gojlan is almost impossible....

250+ now thats an issue brother so have your pathoma ready and then go for goljan because the extra knowledge wont hurt but pathoma is a must

Reading it won't improve your score! memorizing the points in it will improve your score. Reading it means you'll forget it in a month or two. Annotating down the low yield points is what can improve your score. And to do that you'll need to spend loooooooots of time doing so. Advice, do pathoma and an extra Qbank. Doing 2200 Questions take the same time it would take you to do Goljan.

Depends on your schedule, do you plan on taking the exam after 12 months? Do you have lots of time for your prep? or is it 7 months or less?

If it's 7 months or less then you're better off using your time with another Qbank along with Uworold.

If it's more then you can do 2 Qbanks along with Goljan (takes about on and a half to two months to get a good grip of what's in it)

Just like ppl say that the blue notes in goljan are low yield but we annotate them anyways. Same goes to Kaplan QBANK, it has some low yield facts. BUT definitely annotate as that will decrease the amount you'll have to annotate from UWORLD

On a personal level I'm following the zumzum method, with modifications of my own.
So, I'm doing Kaplan Qbank after a couple of subjects.
