I annotated everything on FA , even Kaplan Qbank ... it definitely pays off in the end , reading FA in the last week along with the annotations is Gold .

But dont annotate heavily , annotate very high yield stuff , kaplan qbank can concentrate on minutiae at times , so be smart about it .

Use a different color coded pen for each qbank .

I used red = kaplan
black = Rx
Blue = UW

and every other source with pencil .

Like unknown diseases that are not in FA , Gene names , rare disease chromosome No. , weird microorganisms , weird genetics questions and detail etc

you have to just ask your self , is USMLE step 1 really going to ask this minutiae ? If No , then skip it or right a word or two , but not whole lines .

you will get better at this intuition , and then get refined until you reach UW .

Also before starting Qbanks , i will recommend you to read FA once , because most of the times the important stuff you think in the qbank , will be mentioned in a lone corner in the book , so knowing FA better will save you a lot of unnecessary annotations and time .

Any specific differences you noticed among the three? Were the overall question base the same? I have a UW subscription atm. If I could pick out one more, Kaplan or Rx?

UW is at the top , do it slowly and dont rush the explanations .

I found Rx next to be more exam relevant , the questions might seem easy , but they are all high yield , and it makes you enforce FA .

Kaplan Qbank should be done with the initial reads IMO , Rx with FA , and UW in the last 2 months .
