Unhappy I lost all my prep materials!

Less than 2 months to the test and someone stole my first aid which was heavily annotated and my laptop, external hard disc with all the uworld q banks and DVD lectures.
Don't know what to do now I don't think it's possible to read Kaplan again or start a new FA ....totally confused....suggestions welcome.

thanx.....should I try or reschedule?.?

thats so sad!
i would suggest you buy another FA and start studying it even as you make up your mind what to do so that you do not lose your rhythm. As you read your new FA some of those things you had annotated will return.
before this happened were you definite of taking your test in Dec or did it depend on nbmes? i think that should determine how you approach this.
All the best, whatever you decide may God grant you good success.

A few months before my exam, I lost my FA and Goljan book. I had EVERYTHING written ! I cried for a week and looked everywhere.
Everybody kept telling me, it's all in your head, I didn't believe them.

It was the BEST thing that ever happened to me . I delayed my exam a few more weeks. Totally stopped writing notes, found ways to create links in my brain for remembering things, stories , mneumonics, anything as long as it sticks. For anatomy for example, it helped alot to close my eyes and remember things on my body then create silly names of muscles and nerves or stuff.

Eg. Gluteus maximus, is too fancy and important to look good for it to do heavy work, so Gluteus minimus and medius take the SUPERIOR nerve and work like for it ( the ugly sisters ) and act like the deltoid of the leg and abduct the legs out

I used to write things down like you. That gave me safety that I can look them up later. Now, I don't write ANYTHING down if I can. I just close my eyes, create a story or a mnemoic. It saves alot of time.

I got a 251 so don't worry you will be fine.

You have it all in your head, just close your eyes and read through FA and UW again quickly and effectively like I told you, you don't need any notes. You are going to do great. Notes are just holding you down.

Oh by the way, look up my thread of my exam experience. Never mix questions until you master everything. I never mixed questions so thing kept repeating again and again at the same time until I memorized them by heart

I know many will tell you not to, but my score is just the best proof to prove them wrong. Mixing just stresses you out and spreads you all over the place.

Good luck, email me if you need anything.

Default I am so sorry!

First of all how far are you with your study schedule? Secondly if I was in your shoes, I would re-schedule immediately b/c you are NOT in the right stage of mind, thus re-charge yourself with another firm test schedule would help you forget about the lost materials.

Good luck!
