Hey,

I found expanded feedback for both forms to be helpful in the sense that you know what you missed and where your reasoning went wrong. It's only $10 more and for that I think it's worth it.
Also, I did them at standard pace. I think it's the better way to do it since it simulates the real test situation, but I think this is a personal preference. Some people like doing them in the self paced mode so they can look up answers and what not, but I think that defeats the purpose of taking an assessment.

Good luck!

Hey,

Once you get done, they will show you only the questions you got wrong. Then you can look up the answers, either in FA or whatever resource you like. If not in FA, then on wiki. There are also some posts out there where people posted their speculated correct answer.
Here's a link to what I used for a few of the questions I got wrong on NBME 12. Hope it helps.

To answer your second question: idk how long you have access to your test. I would just look up the answers as soon as you get done taking the test. Thats what I did because that you kind of have an idea why you missed the questions- was it because you didn't know the material or did you interpret the question differently or you were confused, whatever your thinking was.
