Unhappy Failed Step 1 (first time) 187/74

Hey Everyone!
I am an IMG and recently took Step 1 10/10 and got my scores back last Wednesday to find 187/74! I used Falcon Videos to prepare completed their course with their "method" and went through U World Twice... I felt confident so I sat for it. I have been devastated and upset for days... I have hopes of doing General Surgery Residency, IM, or ER. I have decided to take the Kaplan live course in January 2012. Anyone have any input or words of wisdom?!?!

Study with Kaplan this time, very good choice.
Books are complete of information, also buy First Aid and use it along kaplan.
Buy Kaplan Qbank and do NBMES before going to exam.
Did you did any NBMES before your exam??????
What was your UW average score??????

This facts are important, so if you didn't do NBMES and your UW score was low, that's a red sign not to take thye exam.

Forget about what happen, start fresh and full of optimism this time. You will pass this exam this time with a great score.
Good luck

Hey Thanks for your response... I didn't do many nbme's... I don't recall my scores I believe one of them was the equivalent of a 222 and the other a 226 but my UW score was an average of 67% which I was told was pretty good and that was with no repeated questions. So of course I felt good... to be honest I wasn't even worried about passing being I was a solid medical student with a great background. I think I know the information well for some reason I couldn't execute and apply it on that day and I choked. I'm going to go over my weaker subjects with first aid up until the Kaplan retreat and turn this whole thing around and get that 99% i know I can!!! Thanks again :-)

Well, they changed the score system, there's no more 99.
But whats important now is the 3 digit score.
Go for a good 3 digit, that's what matters.

Hi
Don't give up!
Is your UW 67% average during first time or during second time you did it?
Thank you!

The 67% was after the first time... the second time I just went and reviewed the questions I did... I didnt re-answer questions just read them and the explanations in depth.

Hey... don't be scared I'm sure you did just fine. Apparently in talking with Falcon since they got a print out of my U world and my NBME scores and STEP 1... that this should have NEVER happened to me. I believe it may be in part due to test anxiety. Have no fear... you will get great results!
