About Kaplan USMLE Step 1 Lecture Notes 2012
I will be writing the step in the 9 months but want to use Kaplan Lecture Notes to follow along during my fourth semester. I have but the 2010 video's but need to know if I should buy the 2010, 2011 or 2012 notes if all are available for the same price. I heard the 2012 ones were missing some important information. I looked at the old threads but none mentioned which ones were considered the "best" regardless of price.

hey... i'll telll u something about kaplans....the peole keep deducting information in most successive notes...eg in the 2008 notes in phyiology there is a table given regarding capillary leakage...that is a very important table and can clear many important concepts...but u dont have them in the 2010 or the 2012...i myself have both the 2010 and the 2008 version and i find somethings missing in both ...so i think kaplan ppl update their notes with respect to the most high yield topics for dat year...but as long as u r with the 2008 or the 2010 version u shud be f9.

It really does not matter which edition you use. Kaplan videos and Lecture notes are just to get you started and ensure you have a good idea about the subject. At the end however, it's FA that you are gonna memorize and use KLN just as reference. So, dont worry too much about KLN, just get done with it as soon possible and then start your real preparation- FA+UW.
I spoke to a couple of friends who got 99 and they said it is practically impossible to remember everything that's in KLN and there's no way you can review the complete series in 1-2 weeks before the exam.

If you are done with Kaplan once, start doing FA and UW. Use kaplan only as reference books from now on but do not ignore it completely.

You would definitely be in a position to answer most of your questions on the step 1 exam if you a thorough with FA and UW.

Good luck

Default Kaplan 2002 edition books

Sorry for highjacking the page. I have the above books, will they be ok to help me pass the exam with high marks (I will use the other recommended books) or should I buy a more recent edition?
