Post answer is either B and E

[QUOTE=menatallah Elgohary;78651]a 49 year old previously healthy female reports having had several ' fainting spells' in last 6 months. in each case she regained consciousness after only a few minutes her blood pressure is normal she has good carotid pulses with no bruits which of the following cardiac lesions is most likely to be present?
a. pericardial effusion
b. left atrial myxoma
c. bicuspid aortic valve
d. mitral valve stenosis
e. left anterior descending artery thrombosis[/QU

in pericardial effusion , bicuspid aortic valve , mitral valve stenosis , left ant descendig arty thrombosis fainting spells is unlikely. For fainting spells to occur , cerebral hypoperfusion must be affected , henceLEFT ATRIAL MYXOMA IS THE MOST COMPATIBLE ANSWER AS LEFT ATRIAL MYXOMA WILL INPEDE THE BLOOD FLOW TO THE AORTA ,HENCE THE BRANCHES ANTERIOR 1NE WLL NOT BE ABLE TO SUPPLY THE BRAIN HENCE FAINTING SPELLS

Default new explaination

its not unusual to witness fainting spells in all 4 options, though fainting spells rare in cases of left anterior descending artery , periicardial effusions, hence we can rule out these two, but now we are left with 2 better options atrial myxoma and mitralis valve stenosis , both account for obstruction to forward blood flow , infact myxoma presentation mimic mitral valvular disease , but since pathologically ,myxoma will impede ventricular filling more than that of stenosis, so best answer is left atrial myxoma .......... but suppose instead of left atrial myxoma ,right atrial myxoma is given in the option then wat will be the best answer????
