Smile Need suggestion, actual exam 24th nov.

Hello everyone,

I am IMG, i've made a biggest mistake last year by steping up the exam without preparation. I did not know anything about USMLE, i lived in the small town. No one of my friend want to take this exam. And i got 147 (maybe this is the most awful score you ever seen)..

But now i've prepared for revange... Because i've known all information regarding USMLE...
I need your suggestion whether i am ready or not.

i've done UW two months ago avg. 62%, repeated >75%.
then USMLERx, avg.71%
UWSA 1 (2 weeks prior) 224
NMBE 11 (9 days) 530/228
and today UWSA 2 560/232
I still want to take NMBE 12, and i save NMBE 7 for the last since this one is the best predictor for real exam.... and i've arranged practice session at prometric at 22nd (2days prior).

So, how do you think? am i ready for 24th?

My goal is just to shoot range above 220, but much happier if i could get >230

Also i need all your support and prayer since this exam is so important for all of us..

Good luck for everyone..
Gbu

Please reply me
I'm so nervous... hehe

I think you're definetly ready for the exam!
Your Qbank scores are good, u passed the NBME and the UWSA with good scores and I think its a good idea to take the other NBME so you're reassured that u can go to the exam! You are doing very well, its normal to be nervous but u prepared very thorough so why shouldn't it work? Best of luck!!!!

This is really normal! My sleep hasn't been the best in the last weeks But its over soon. I read in my favourite book and do some relaxation exercise before going to bed. This helps. You just have 8 days to go so, good luck studying for this last part!!!

My exam is in two weeks I am happy its soon over. Everytime I open a book I am thinking: TWO MORE WEEKS I guess u feel the same. But u prepared yourself very well! So no reason to panic My prep is ok. I haven't taken an NBME yet, cause they kind of scare me but I will take one this weekend. I am going through FA and Uworld notes at the moment and also doing lots of questions. When are you taking the NBME 12 and 7? Did the NBME appear much harder to you than the UWSA?

I am gonna take NBME 12 two days later. Tomorrow i am gonna review UWsa 2. In my opinion, overall NMBE is a little bit harder. But UWsa block 2 the hardest. And i will keep nmbe 7 one day prior exam since that one the best predictor among the others. Now i just read from my UW note. How do you think? I think we are in the same boat. Hehe

So is it best to do NBME 7 last? I was going to do NBME 7 first. I was planning on taking NBME 7 1 month before my exam and then NBME 11 and 12 closer to the exam date.

@dextrocardia : i read from this forum, nbme 7 is the best predictor for step 1 exam. So for me, i will keep it until the last day or two days before the exam.. But for some people, they like to take nbme 7 far from their actual exam.. they do not want to ruin their confidence, just in case they get a lower score in nbme 7... and the test is coming soon..

How do you think?
How your prep?

Wish you all the best, keep your spirit high..

GBu

@Sanna9 : i've prepared almost one year, since i am IMG. There are a lot materials i have to cover. The knowledge i have and standar USMLE is so different.. Maybe it's because there are a massive gap between my univ and US univ...

And then I did qbank, there were must must things to do.. >7000 qs maybe ive done..

How your prep?

Wish me luck and please pray for me..
CLoser the date exam, i am getting nervous..

Hi Jopau777,

First of all heads up on not giving up!

Secondly, I don't think anyone of us can tell you if you are ready, and this is totally because its all upto you, Do you still believe you have room for expansion or do you feel like it has come to the point where you just feel like the exam needs to be given.

I wish you all the best, just relax do FA one more time and attempt another NBME, if you feel like you are satisfied, then just say BRING IT ON USMLE!!! !

GOOD LUCK!
