Search Current student, How should i study?

Hi all,

My first post here. I'm currently a med student in a Caribbean med school, currently in MD3. I have completed anatomy, embryo, histology, ethics, Neuroanatomy, genetics, biochem, and physiology. I am currently doing Pathology 1, micro, epidemiology, and med pysch, Next semester (MD4) ill have pharm, Pathology 2, and PDI. Ill probably be writing USMLE by next year october (in 2016), i was wondering how should i start to practice for the step 1? Any specific Qbanks, books, or articles? Please let me know!

Thank you

The best way to prepare for the Step 1 is to do well in the first two years of college. So I would focus more on your current and future courses in Meds school and worry about the dedicated study periods for step 1 after the completion of basic sciences.

I used FA Cases and Qbank (textbook) and the Kaplan Qbank (textbook+online) while taking classes from Med 2, so you can certainly try those now. The extra Step 1 like question will help for the in-class exams and to review older materials. Also, get a copy of FA and RR Path by Goljan and try to follow it with your classes. Again, doing well in your classes should the primary goal at the moment.
