USMLE Books Step 1 with right choice of resources?

Hi docs, this is my 1st post here. As in IMS i'm in my 4th year and i have 3 years more in my education. I decided to take step 1 in 6-9 months because i have to prepare it while i have tough diciplines. I decide to buy these books 4 preperation but i think i will need more. Please recommend me something for behavioral sciences, biostatistics, ethics. Also as i've not bought yet please recommend me to change my mind buying something instead of my decision. By the way my basics are awful except patho, pharma i think i dont remember anything from 1st,2nd yearz.

High Yield Gross
High Yield Neuroanatomy
Rapid Review Goljan
Microbiology made simple
BRS Physiology
Katzung Pharma Review(already bought)
High Yield Embryology
Rapid Review Biochemistry(already bought)
High Yield Immunology
BRS biochem&molecular bio&genetics(in 1 book)
BRS histology&cell biology
First aid2011(in pdf) i'm gonna use FA2012 when available.
I'm not sure about the highlighted BRS books also please recommend me what to do about that diciplines.

Also i have
Kaplan Videos from my friend
Doctors in training lecture notes
Dr.Najeeb lectures on youtube

Appreciate for precious recommendations, hope everyone of you get 250+ from your tests.:sorry:

Hey eggman!
I am an international med. student too. I am currently in my fourth year preparing the exam and taking it in 10 days
Your book list is very good! I used High yiel biostats and Behav.science (there is enough for behav.science, ethics and psych in it). I think they are really good. For biochem+molec.science I use Lange flash cards, so I dont know about the BRS. The high yield Immuno is really good, but sometimes too detailed. I skipped some parts but its a good one. Same for embryology. 6-9 month should be good, u really have enough time.
After your first round I recommend you to start qbanks. I just used Uworld cause I didnt have time for a second one and didnt want to spent more money. Then when u feel ready start assesment exams. UWSA and NBME are good. Best of luck studying!!!

I'm from turkey but i study medicine in Bulgaria. I was serious about fun
I 'll take test and my goal is above 230 but i'm not sure if i'll reside in usa or not. I need to learn all cause also i will have harder exams in Turkey when i graduate. About USMLE i just want to keep my options open when i come to a timeline for my own critic decision. And also i just need to learn perfectly cuz all of us will be doctors no matter in USA or even X country.

For behavioral sciences, ethis, statistics: Should i use three different book for each or should i just use Kaplan 100 case for ethics or a lecture note book + case book..etc?
Also for Genetics&Histology&Molecular-cell biology? Should i use BRS 3 in one book or any other books?
For example http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-st...-step-1-a.html in this thread High Yield is the best choice but it does not cover Histology...
Sorry all members, if i insisted too much on this but in my way the planning and good books are at least %50 of preperation for an exam.

I think Kaplan 100 cases is just for ethics. It won't help with statistics or behavioral science. I will use HY beh sc and HY biostatistics.

hi...just read your list of books....im doing kaplan+FA+uw+DIT lectures
biochem and micro are awesome in FA
for immuno i listened to kaplan lectures (they are really good) made immuno easy
for patho im doing rr golijan no need to touch anything else im my opinion...combine it with his audio lectures
for pharmac im doing kaplan first few chapters and doing lange pharmac flash cards
for B.S. i did kaplan and conrad fishers 100 cases (B.S is a vague topic so the best guess is what i will go for)
I think uw prepares you for most of the subjects

Just so you know, there will be a new HY Biostat book coming out in January! Dont buy it now! The old one is a few years old... I am waiting for the new one. You can study everything else before that, but I would wait for the new book...
