Angry Stuck with USMLE World

Hi frnds.. This is my first ever post.. Need a big time help . Im done with. Kaplan videos. Did the notes twice. Had left few topics to cover, decided to study them along with uw. But I'm stuck with doing uw all the day long. I'm feeling that I'm slowly forgetting the Kaplan notes. Done with 50% of uw- 66%.
Really need advice. Whether to stop here and do the things left over ( feel weak in hematology, dint study it properly) Or complete uw and go thro only FA ? Or shud I give Kaplan notes one more read after doing uw? Planning to take up the exam in Dec end.. I'm pretty much confused. Ours us the 1st batch. Do really don't have any1 to look up2.. Thanks in advance..

Hi,
there is no need to repeat the notes again as i think, that was the general study you did, i think now you need to contiune doin some questions and do kaplan essentials of step 1, is a good book that makes you have the outlines for almost everything.

just relax and study fast and condensed.
"what is in your brian won't leak out unless there is a hole" that's what Goljan says.

good luck

Hey Dkay! Its really normal to forget details and info, but the general principles and the overview is definetly in your brain, so dont worry
I would focus on FA, complete your kaplan chapters along uw and do uw! The question are worth it. When u feel there is something u really dont understand or really forgot, then u can read this chapter in kaplan. Going again through all of it, is not a good way to invest your time.Add notes to your FA so it will be the mega high yield book for the end -prep-session.
I hope this helps!

Hey Dkay, if u wanna see where u stand, you can take an NBME or a UWSA. Just note that the NBME is stricter concerning the scoring. So you could use one of them to asses you knowledge, just dont freak out if the score is not as good as u would expect it to be, its just an assesement and u have a lot of time to study left. How many times did u read FA? How much questions do u have left on uworld?

Hi Glomerulus. Still have 50% of uw.. Did FA a bit while going thro Kaplan notes.., haven't gone thro it completely. Planning to complete uw by dec 5.then revise few weak topics for about 5 days.then give uwsa.I heard NBME 7,11 & 12 are close predictors.so with uwsa , wil give NBME 7 and then if I get a good score stick with FA and do NBME 11 & 12 and give the exam.

Hey Dkay sounds good to me. Do you have your exam scheduled? I think its possible that u take the exam an the end of the month. If your self assesments are not very good, u can still change the date. Best of luck!
